Social Responsibility

SÜDPACK is a family-owned company. Social responsibility and the sustainable development of our local community go hand in hand. We actively participate in public life through donations to and sponsorships of charitable initiatives and organizations.

Employees

Our employees are our most valuable resource. At SÜDPACK, we continue our success story every day through our dedication and commitment. A safe and attractive work environment is the foundation for this success. Accordingly, we aim to manage future changes in our industry responsibly, with a focus on social compatibility and forward-looking strategies. Our actions in this area are guided by our core values and vision.

We aim to further strengthen the SÜDPACK employer brand by investing in training and development, disability insurance, and retirement plans. Permanent contracts, tailored work schedules, flexible hours, and a transparent pay scale are standard practices at our company. Employee retention also means offering opportunities for career progression. We enable young people to start their careers via nine training occupations and nine degree courses.

Occupational Safety

Protecting the health and well-being of our employees is our highest priority. To this end, we implement projects within a comprehensive health and safety management system to proactively prevent workplace accidents and occupational illnesses. In practice, our Safety Masterboard provides a group-wide overview of accidents and near-misses. Achieving SA8000 certification is another milestone, making us one of the few companies of our size to do so successfully. In this way, we fulfill our duty of care towards our employees, customers, suppliers, and society as a whole. During the reporting period, we achieved significant progress in occupational safety, particularly in the areas of work equipment, machine safety measures, safety training, and ergonomics.

Supply Chain

Our commitment to sustainability and accountability doesn’t end at our factory gates; it extends to our global suppliers and business partners. Our Sustainable Supply Chain ambition can only succeed if we strengthen our business relationships through transparent practices and make sustainability a key criterion in our procurement decisions. Since the end of 2022, we have been preparing for the Supply Chain Due Diligence Act through EcoVadis and internal processes. EcoVadis enables us to identify human rights and environmental risks within our supply chain. New suppliers are carefully vetted for compliance with various sustainability criteria and are subsequently subject to annual risk assessments and supplier self-disclosures.
